Jesus tells us that when we give, when we pray, and when we fast that we are to do so according to God’s guidelines and not our own. Read it for yourself and look closely at verses 3, 5, and 7 in  Matthew chapter six. Did you see it? In each of these verses it says “when thou” not “if you choose to.”Jesus instructs each of us to Give, to Pray, and to Fast.

There is an unbelievable release of God’s power and the moving of the Holy Spirit in a believers life when we combine prayer and fasting. Jesus told His disciples that certain things only come about by prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.)
